Daily Blogging in December!

This year, I’ve decided to blog everyday in December.  I’m sure it won’t be easy, but I’m up for the challenge and I think it will help motivate me to blog more regularly in the new year.  I’ve already outlined most of the month’s posts in hopes to avoid weeks of wondering what I’m going to write about.  I've got quite a few holiday-related posts lined up, but there will be some normal stuff in the mix as well.  I’d also like to do another daily Instagram post challenge in December since it was a lot of fun last year.  If you’re reading this and know of any photo-a-day challenges for December, please leave a comment down below with a link for me.  Thank you!  Wish me luck on my daily blogging adventure…

I'm Planning on Planning...

At heart, I am a very organized person.  I like order.  I like everything to have a place. Organization gives me a sense of peace.  With three kids, a job, a significant other and all my other duties however, it is sometimes difficult to stay on track.  A couple Sundays ago, I picked up my 2015 planner from Target.  It is absolutely adorable with its gold polkadot cover and cheery pink interior and, since it was only $10, I couldn’t say no.  Here are a few things I’m planning on using my planner to plan…

I'm a mommie of three and as such I'm a pretty busy lady.  Keeping track of milestones, appointments and school schedules is a must.  In addition to this, I’d also like to create and maintain a strict budget this year.

As I am a full time employee and a supervisor at my company, maintaining notes and schedules is extremely important.  I do have a dedicated work planner for the new year but my personal planner will also house some work-related items.

If I'd like my little blog to grow and flourish (and I really really do), proper planning is a critical part of the process.  I’m hoping that scheduling my posts will get me writing more regularly.

I am horrible when it comes to remembering birthdays. I mean the absolute worst. Strangely, I usually remember birthdays right up until the actual day and then completely forget to deliver birthday wishes.

Meal planning is a huge time-saver and it seems to help us stick to a healthier diet so I will be writing out our menus each week this coming year.  Jotting down the ingredients in my planner will also help during grocery runs.

Because my memory is horrible, it's imperative that I write things down to remember them.  It's also nice to look back on events after they've passed.  A few months back, my mom and I happened upon one of her old planners.  It was so neat to think of what we were up to all those years ago.

Thank you very much for reading!!  I hope you enjoyed this post and it brought you a bit of organization inspiration.  Happy planning!

Mad About Plaid

To me, plaid is the quintessential holiday pattern.  No pattern is more cozy, more festive or more classic than plaid.  If you share in my taste for tartan, please read on and enjoy…

1. Plaid Bow Barrette - Forever 21
I think jeans, a white tee and red flats or even a simple black dress would benefit from this bow’s sense of sophistication.

2. Step Out to Study Flat in Red - ModCloth
How adorable are these sweet little shoes?  I can picture these paired with skinny jeans and a peacoat.

3. Plaid Cotton Shirtdress - Ralph Lauren
I am in love with this little dress!  I’m very tempted to purchase it for Sadie while it’s still on sale and in stock.  The mixed plaids and cute collar make it irresistible.

4. Plaid Messenger Bag - H&M
I’ve actually been hunting for a new, smaller bag for Hendrix and Sadie as they are older now and don’t need as many items as they once did.  This bag is neither too masculine nor too feminine and I think it would make a perfect wintery baby bag.

5. Tartan Plaid Scarf - Lord & Taylor
I am pretty darn determined to buy a red plaid scarf for the upcoming holiday season and this one is definitely in the running.

6. Printed Bear Toy - Gap
I really want to bring this little guy home for our little man!  I think Hendrix would really appreciate this little bear as a Happy Winter gift.

7. Plaid Bow Barrette - Forever 21
Again - in another pattern - just because I love classic bows so much.  I think this would look beautiful on Ella with her gorgeous long curls.

8. Posh Prerogative Cape - ModCloth
Last but certainly not least, we have this amazing cape.  I have been on a vintage clothing kick lately, so this to me is perfection.

I hope you enjoyed this post and are having a wonderful beginning to the holiday season!
